Dear Friends & Members,
The Dallas Woman’s Forum has many exciting plans for the upcoming year that you won’t want to miss!
As President of the Dallas Woman’s Forum, I would like to personally invite you to become a member of a well respected (and fun) organization that has been an integral part of the fabric of Dallas and Texas since 1906. Your membership supports the advancement of our mission, as well as the preservation of an historic landmark of Dallas. As a member, you’ll receive advance notification of our exciting events, and discounted program luncheon rates.
Won’t you join us in this wonderful journey with some incredibly amazing women?
Why Join?
Many folks think the Dallas Woman’s Forum is synonymous with the Alexander Mansion, but I’d like to share with you that we are so much more than just the pretty face of the Mansion. Don’t get me wrong, the Alexander Mansion is pretty incredible, but DWF has a long history of amazing women and incredible accomplishments.
The DWF was founded in the early 1900’s to help with the causes of women and children, as well as providing programs, fellowship and fun for women in the Dallas and surrounding areas. While we are stewards of the beautiful Alexander mansion, we still hold with the original tenets of the DWF.
Snapshot of Activities
Here is just a sampling of what the Dallas Woman’s Forum is all about:
Community Outreach: As part of our philanthropic mission, our members have supported the Landauer headstart school behind us with things like Christmas pjs, fall treats, books for kids moving up to kindergarten, and Easter Egg Hunts. We’ve provided, spirit shirts & snacks for the teachers at Birdie Alexander Elementary school and school supplies for their students. We’ve helped with supplies for multiple homeless or hand up shelters, pet shelters, and a baby shower for a refugee mom.
Fellowship & Fun: Our bimonthly membership meetings include a variety of programs ranging from historical, educational, inspiring, taste testing, and sometimes just plain old fun. Lifelong friendships have been forged through the DWF, and we have supported each other through many of life’s ups and downs!
The Alexander Mansion: As mentioned earlier, we are “much more than a pretty face”, but we are also stewards of a very beautiful and historic mansion. At times that requires work, but that in itself also leads to fun times. Just ask our multitude of volunteers who have packed, unpacked, sorted, wrapped, decorated, setup, taken down, hosted, or led tours (to name a few). None of those activities have taken place without laughter, conversation, sharing, and fun.
Please join us! We’d love to welcome you!
